Impossible or Am I Possible?

Hello again! The past few years have been most likely the most challenging in my entire life. Where to start? There is no real beginning, just a – shall we say – sequence of unfortunate events that one by one would have been insignificant, but together created not just a perfect storm, but a perfect tsunami.

If you have ever felt like drowning in challenges, you know what I mean. I am now a few months shy of 61 and struggle each day to “keep it together” as they say. Like so many times before in my life, I am faced with issues that I can’t seem to solve on my own.

However, I also realize that I am not alone. Each and every one of us is struggling; we often don’t have the financial means to seek professional help. All of our lives we have been conditioned to sacrifice, to take care of others until we reach that breaking point. That point when we realize that we have never taken care of ourselves and there is little left to give.

Self care is paramount. Contrary to popular belief, it is not selfish. It is a necessity. You can only give to others if you have taken care of yourselves first. Otherwise you will most certainly burn out.

My first question of the day to you is: how do you practice self-care?

Tell me your story. Remember: impossible is actually “i’m possible” — be well!
